From the Heart of a Chaplain!
I love being a chaplain; I truly do! Last week and this past weekend I spent a lot of time at the hospital dealing with death. For most people that would be considered a bad week. For me, it was a HUGE blessing. It is such a joy to have the opportunity to care for others. I attended an amazing funeral this weekend; yes an amazing funeral! It was a true worship experience. I am very thankful for the love God has given me for the people and for being able to serve them weekly. This is the best ministry I have ever had and I thank you for giving me this opportunity!!!

We interact with people every day during routine tasks and at familiar places, but seldom consider these casual encounters to be eternal opportunities.
Community Chaplains of America will equip and empower you to engage intentionally and claim your community as a mission field. You'll learn how to listen and respond to people facing challenges in life and ultimately gain permission to share the hope, love and forgiveness found in Jesus Christ.
Whether at work, in your neighborhood, your child's school, or wherever you go - be ready to cultivate relationships and offer a ministry of care to those around you.
Community Chaplains of America (CommChap) was launched in 2007 as a division of Corporate Chaplains of America (CCA) (www.chaplain.org ) with the goal of empowering people to make a difference in the lives of hurting people everywhere.
The empowerment approach was built from the foundation of chaplain training utilized by Corporate Chaplains of America since 1996 providing full time corporate chaplains in workplaces across the U.S. The training, mission, and vision have a focused goal - "to build caring relationships with the hope of gaining permission to share the life changing Good News of Jesus Christ in a non-threatening manner." In striving to fulfill this mission, we have seen more than 16,000 people make life-changing faith decisions.
Our desire for Community Chaplains of America is to see these life-changing decisions multiplied and ministry extended throughout neighborhoods, schools, workplaces, and essentially everywhere we encounter hurting people.
Our mission is to build caring relationships with the hope of gaining permission to share the life changing Good News of Jesus Christ in a non-threatening manner.
We are called to have thousands of chaplains serving millions of people.
The following is a brief summary of the doctrinal core beliefs of Community Chaplains of America. It is not intended to be an exhaustive systematic theology but a framework that we can mutually agree upon.
About the Bible: We believe that the Bible as originally written is the inspired, infallible, and inerrant Word of God and the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
About Jesus: We believe Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit by the virgin Mary, lived a physical life on this earth and, being fully God and fully man, was without sin.
About Salvation: We believe that all mankind sins and as such, no one has the ability to save themselves by doing good deeds or by being a good person. It is only through accepting Jesus Christ as personal Savior and Lord that one can receive eternal life in Heaven. Salvation is available to anyone who acknowledges by faith that Jesus Christ died on the cross for their sins, rose bodily from the grave, and asks Him to forgive them of their sins and save their soul.
About Ministry: We believe that, as Christians, it is a responsibility, a duty and a joy to spread the Word of God to all who will listen.
If your connection to Christ and compassion for lost and hurting people has you searching for an opportunity to make an eternal impact, then you have the heart of a Community Chaplain.
So often, as Christians we pass up the chance to share our faith because we lack confidence. Community Chaplains of America is here to encourage you through resources that will empower you to offer practical care to those around you while also equipping you to share the Good News of a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
When contemplating a new course in life, often the first question we ask is a simple one – “Am I qualified?”
If you are a pastor seeking to equip your people, or a person who simply desires to serve God, our belief about your qualifications is very simple.
WE BELIEVE THERE ARE TWO BASIC QUALIFICATIONS!
- First, we need to be connected in relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Second, we need to genuinely care about the people around us.
You see, if our connection to Christ and our compassion for lost and hurting people have us searching for ways to make an eternal impact, then we have the heart of a Community Chaplain.
